Hematopathology

The Hematopathology section in the Department of Pathology at The George Washington University Medical Center specializes in the evaluation of lymph nodes, bone marrow, blood, body fluids, spleen and hematolymphoid tissues in other organs. The faculty are board-certified experts in this specialty providing accurate diagnoses for non-neoplastic and neoplastic disorders from adult and pediatric patients, and are involved nationally and internationally in professional societies and organizations to advance their field. The faculty members are also are actively engaged in translational research to define the molecular basis of hematopoietic malignancies, and in teaching pathology residents and medical students. We work closely with hematologists and oncologists at our institution to ensure state-of-the-art patient care.
