A Look Back on 2024 Research in the Residency Program

Some of our residents, Dr. Abdelrahman Dabash, Dr. Hayk Simonyan, and Dr. Maryam Mehdipour Daviland attended the College of Pathologists (CAP) 2024 Annual Meeting in October in Las Vegas, NV.

Dr. Abdelrahman Dabash presented on “Sarcomatoid carcinoma of the urinary bladder: a rare aggressive entity diagnosed on histopathology.”

Dr. Maryam Mehdipour Dalivand presented on “Unveiling a Novel CALCR: BRAF Fusion in a Case of Widely Metastatic Poorly Differentiated Neuroendocrine Lung Carcinoma.”

 

                Other research endeavors include Dr. Natalia Zamalloa, who wrote “Probiotic Supplements For Depression In Parkinson’s Disease (Pro-Park).” This was featured in Harvard University’s Principles and Practice of Clinical Research journal. Dr. Narine Muselimyan LeFevre wrote, “Changes in attachment and metabolic activity of rat neonatal cardiomyocytes and nonmyocytes caused by Macrovipera lebetina obtusa venom.” This was featured Toxicol in Vitro. Dr. LeFevre also presented on “Spatial Transcriptomics Defines Sub-types of Small Intestinal Adenocarcinomas” at the GWCC Scientific Retreat.
