On April 29, six of our residents presented their research at the George Washington School of Medical and Health Sciences’ Research Showcase.
Dr. Xingbang Zheng presented, “Expanding the Molecular Spectrum of High-Grade Endometrial Stromal Sarcoma with a Novel BCOR::CCNB3 Fusion.” He was mentored by Dr. Shabnam Samankan.
Dr. Sujitha Chougani presented, “Increasing Diagnostic Yield by Integrating Hematopathology and Clinical Microbiology in the Evaluation of Lymphadenopathy.” She was mentored by Dr. Rebecca Yee.
Dr. Siham Hattab presented, “Comparison of Pneumocystis jirovecii PCR and Cytology for Diagnosis of Pneumocystis Pneumonia in a Retrospective Cohort.” She was mentored by Dr. Rebecca Yee.
Dr. Narine LeFevre presented, “Delayed Multiorgan Metastases in a Meningeal SFT: A Case Report with Population- Based Survival Analysis and Literature Review.” She was mentored by Dr. Abiye Kassa.
Dr. Paul Nagao presented, “Development and Comparison of Vision Transformers for Detection of Blood Smears with Plasmodium falciparum.” He was mentored by Dr. Rebecca Yee.
Dr. Natalia Zamalloa presented, “Clinical and Pathological Correlation of Thyroid Follicular Lesions with Genetic Alteration: A Single Institution Experience.” She was mentored by Dr. Shabnam Samankan.
