Congrats to Department of Pathology Alumnus, Dr. Eric Wargotz!

The Department of Pathology would like to highlight a tremendous achievement made by alumnus Dr. Eric Wargotz! Dr. Wargotz has been installed as the 178th President of MedChi, the Maryland State Medical Society. MedChi’s mission is to serve as Maryland’s foremost advocate and resource for physicians, their patients, and public health. 

Dr. Wargotz completed his residency training in our program, where he also served as Chief Resident. He is also a member of our faculty as a Clinical Professor Emeritus. He has been recognized for his expertise in pathology, with robust research in the breast and gynecologic systems. Dr. Wargotz is a member of the Arthur Purdy Stout Society of Surgical Pathologists, a Life Fellow of the College of American Pathologists, and a Life Member of the American Medical Association. He has served on the editorial board of the “American Journal of Clinical Pathology” and “Human Pathology.” Dr. Wargotz continues to contribute to the community as a Senior Staff Pathologist at Luminis Health Doctors Community Medical Center.
