What is the organ and the underlying pathology?
Answer: This is a uterus which weighed 8889g. The normal anatomy is severely distorted. Sectioning through the uterus revealed multiple tan-white, whorled nodules, and areas of focal edema. Microscopically (and clinically) this is consistent with leiomyomata/fibroids.
